Books

Written for teachers new to Twitter, this Cultural Guidebook is designed for the person who has heard about the professional benefits of Twitter and is ready to begin his/her exploration. Filled with video case studies, images and sparse text, this book is an initial splash page designed to inspire a closer look at this amazing tool. Take a look:

Twtter: A Cultural Guidebook from UWC South East Asia on Vimeo.

Keri Lee and I  enlisted some of our friends in the Asia-Pacific region to help make videos explaining how they use Twitter. We built on the work of Rodd Lucier and his Seven Degrees of Connectedness, which we felt accurately described the stages one goes through when developing an online PLN with Twitter.

We worked with two talented and humble individuals: Rob Appleby, who created all the illustrations for the book; and Dave Caleb, who helped shoot our videos and intro media. Thank you both for your input! It was invaluable.

Well, we are FINALLY ready to share what we have. The book as well as the course have been approved for the US iTunes store and you can find it here. If you do not have access to this store you can download from Google Drive from  this link.  In order to read it on your iPad, you will need to:

1. Download the .ibooks file
2. Open iTunes and add the .ibooks file to your Books
3. Sync with your iPad to read!

We hope you find it a useful resource and would appreciate any reviews or comments.
